Zanac Neo "Players Note" Like R-Type Delta, Zanac Neo has keeps track of various milestones you've reached while playing the game. Unfortunately, given that a) Zanac Neo has not been released outside of Japan, and b) my Japanese reading capability is only very slightly more than non-existant, it was very difficult for me to determine what the heck I had accomplished. :) Fortunately I found this site: http://isweb16.infoseek.co.jp/play/schk/Rev/Attack01/ZbyZ/ZANACNEO/zanacneo.html which has a ton of good info about Zanac Neo. However, it too is in Japanese, but at least now I can use Babelfish. The following is my attempt make some sense out of what Babelfish barfed my way after running the above URL through it. Given that Babelfish results are usually more amusing than informative, it is very likely that something below is either incomplete or just plain wrong, so let me know if you find something amiss. Before anyone asks, no, I don't know if you get anything for completing all four pages. I'll let you know if I ever pull it off. :) Page 1 Easy Mode Beaten - Pretty self-explanatory Normal Mode Beaten - Ditto. Hard Mode Beaten - Ditto. Very Hard Mode Beaten - And again... Beat Game with Machine 0 - That'd be the FC-Custom, and you can do this on any difficulty. All Bosses Destroyed - Don't let the time run out on you. :) Beat Game with No Mistakes - i.e., don't die. Ever. Difficulty doesn't matter, fortunately. Beat 1 Area With No Mistakes - That can be Area 0 on Easy with the FC-Custom, for all the game cares. :) Page 2 No Item Clearing - Ouch. No chips, no subweapons, no Randar. Difficulty doesn't matter. All Faeries Collected - Heh. Do you even know where they all are? :) All Eye Eye Collected - These are the "smiley" icons that immediately grant you the wide shot when you hit them a few times. All Items Collected - If it appears, you must grab it. 10000000 Points Achieved - Easier done than said... 15000000 Points Achieved - Nothing to add here... 20000000 Points Achieved - Ditto. All Subweapons Fully Powered - Yes, in one game. Page 3 Get 100 Chips With No Mistakes - Not terribly difficult... Have 50 Ships Remaining - I think you have to beat the game, but you don't still have to have 50 ships at the end. Hit counter reaches 500 - Straightforward enough. Hit bonus reaches 5000 - Ditto. No Shot Play - Clear an area without firing a single shot. Use Charge Shot 100 Times - In one game, that is. No Charge Shot Play - Hello, FC-Custom! :) Chain Combo reaches 30 - Those box swarms in the last area are good for this... Page 4 Wide Shot Acquired - Oh, now there's a challenge. :) 3 Randars Acquired - There's apparently some trick to their appearence, but quite frankly I usually get 3 per game anyway. 20 Randars Acquired - Hoo boy... You probably won't stumble on 20 of the buggers randomly, though... The FC-Custom's max level Plasma Flash trick is probably your best bet here. 500 Boxes Destroyed - Yawn... Item Received From Faerie - If a faerie is still alive after a boss battle, she'll give you a green "Roulette" subweapon item. Play Time Reaches 10 Hours - Everyone has this by now, right? :) Play Count Reaches 100 - If you really want this, you can just start a game, immediately pause and choose quit, repeat ad nauseum... Finish Count Reaches 20 - Not too hard, but it'll take you about 20 hours. (C) 2002 Zach Keene. A very big thanks to the author of the page I cited above.
